She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Efarin Benetiz.
Zared is survived by her parents; brothers, Edwin and Ulises Castelan; sisters, Maria and Pamela Castelan; and grandparents: Gregorio Castelan, Maria Jaimes and Romalda Carbaja.
Family received friends from 6 - 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the Lockhart High School Gymnasium, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at San Francisco Catholic Church, 9110 US Highway 183 South, Austin, Texas 78747, with Father Cesar Guzman Diaz officiating. Interment followed at Lockhart City Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas.
